Biography

A little bit about myself...

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Astra Duffy, a senior Audio Engineering Technology major and Theatre & Drama minor who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science from the Curb College at Belmont University; my anticipated graduation date is May 2024. I'm currently employed as a staff engineer at 34 Music Square East on Music Row in Nashville, TN, as well as one of the Production Managers for events at the Curb Cafe on Belmont University's campus, both of which are opportunities that I feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to take up. Additionally, I serve as the Events Coordinator for the 2023-2024 executive council of Belmont University's chapter of Audio Engineering Society, an organization that is very near and dear to me.

Since my junior year of high school, I knew that I wanted to go into an audio related field - no art that I had ever worked with before had instilled such an excitement in me as the times when I got to work in anything related to sound. I adored the collaborative aspect of audio the most; getting to come together with so many different people to put our talents together to create something out of nothing is a feeling unlike anything I've ever experienced, and each project I get the opportunity to work on is incredibly special to me.

I strive to learn as much as I can about all the different fields of audio, and to be able to provide high quality services to people who may not typically be able to afford them while doing so. My niche is definitely in sound design and postproduction film mixing/editing, but I also deeply enjoy mastering, recording, music editing/mixing, and vocal tuning. I also am currently learning the ropes of lighting design and slowly building up my personal set of lights!

If you're interested in working with me, have any questions about audio engineering, or just want to say hi, please feel free to shoot me an inquiry, whether it be through my inquiry form, through email, or on my Instagram! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope to be able to work with you on your next project!
